Travel Restrictions To Cuba

Travel Restrictions To CubaThe Association of Christian Women in Defense of the Family supported by the other Cuban exile organizations in Miami that make up the Marti Alliance invites all people of good will in our community to a caravan of cars this Saturday July 9 against the claim of Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart to reimpose the harmful restrictions on travel to Cuba imposed in 2004 by President Bush and revoked in 2009 by President Obama.

Participants in the Caravan will begin meeting this Saturday July 9 at the intersection of Avenue 84 and 14th Street SW from 10:30 in the morning then at 12 noon starting Caravan. The Caravan will head to the building where the offices of Congressman Diaz-Balart. There, a delegation from the Association of Christian Women in Defense of the Family in his office issued a letter letting them know our opposition to the travel restrictions.

These restrictions on travel to Cuba again allowed to see, share and help our loved ones in Cuba and we dictate who our family back in Cuba.

More than 300 000 Cubans have traveled to Cuba since the end of the travel ban in 2009. And tens of thousands more traveling this summer.

We have a moral obligation for our families here and in Cuba to fight for the preservation of our fundamental right to travel to Cuba as we do today: No restrictions.
