A study released by metrics firm Comscore digital media, revealed that since last year there has been an important increase in the number of Colombians who go to websites to find out about travel and tourism.
According to research recorded a 25% rise in the number of people who visit websites in Colombia travel agencies, hotels, and travel with imported everything, reaching 3.2 million unique visitors.
The study also concludes that the company off the top of the list of major online sites to search for and purchase travel packages, reaching 453,000 unique visitors in June 2011,
Over 13 million people over 15 go online from home or a connection from his office in June. Of this, 3.2 million (equivalent to almost one fourth of the total Internet audience) visited the travel category during the month, indicating an increase of 25% compared to 2010.
Among the various subcategories of travel Web sites, those travel-information attracted the largest share of the audience with approximately 1.7 million visitors (13% more than in 2010).
At the same time online travel agencies had the highest growth, reporting an increase of 78% to reach 1.1. million visitors. The catergories of airlines came to 931.000 visitors in June, representing an increase of 16% compared to 2010. The subcategory of hotels / resorts also got a good increase.
